Terry Straehley > Club Habana was formed in the in the 30's by people who were not allowed to join the Havana Yacht Club. Batista, who was a mulatto, was among them. The club was taken over by Castro who turned it into a gym for Olympic hopefuls. With the return of a foreign colony, the building was restored and is now a private club for foreign business people and diplomats.
